10 Fixes for IPTV Smarters Pro, in Order

Start at number one and stop as soon as it’s working.

First: work out where the problem is

IPTV works as a chain — your device, the app, your home network, your internet connection and the service. A quick test points to the weak link: if the same login works on your phone but not on the TV, the problem is the TV device or its Wi-Fi. If it fails everywhere, check your login and the service.

1. Force-close and reopen the app

A surprising number of “it’s down” moments are just a frozen app. On a Firestick, go to Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications → IPTV Smarters Pro → Force Stop, then open it again. On a Smart TV, close the app fully from the recent-apps menu.

2. Restart the device properly

Unplug your Firestick, box or TV from the wall for a full 60 seconds, then plug it back in. Streaming devices with little memory slowly fill up during the week; a proper power cycle clears it. Making this a weekly habit prevents a lot of problems.

3. Restart your router

Unplug the router for 30 seconds. Home routers that run for weeks without a restart often slow down, especially with many devices connected.

4. Move to 5GHz Wi-Fi or use Ethernet

This is the fix for most buffering. The 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band reaches further but is slow and crowded; a stick two rooms from the router on 2.4GHz will stutter even on fast broadband. Connect to the 5GHz network, move the router closer, or use an Ethernet cable (or a Firestick Ethernet adapter) on the main TV.

5. Check your login details character by character

“Invalid credentials” almost always means a typo. The server URL must match exactly — including http:// and any port number like :80 — and usernames and passwords are case-sensitive. Delete the user in Smarters and add it again, pasting the details instead of typing them where you can.

6. Check your subscription hasn’t expired

If everything stopped at once after working fine, your term may simply have ended. Plans with no auto-renewal stop quietly on the expiry date. Message your provider to confirm the end date.

7. Clear the app cache

Smarters stores channel lists, guide data and video buffers. After a provider updates its lineup, a corrupted cache can stop things loading. On Android and Firestick: Settings → Applications → IPTV Smarters Pro → Clear Cache. Only use Clear Data as a last resort — it removes your saved login.

8. Refresh the TV guide

If channels play but the guide is empty or shows the wrong times, open the app’s settings and refresh or reload the EPG. Give it a few minutes on large lineups.

9. Update or reinstall the app

Outdated versions can stop working after server changes. Update from your device’s app store, or uninstall and install a fresh copy, then add your login again.

10. Test in another player

If you use Xtream Codes credentials, they work in other players too — TiviMate, Televizo or XCIPTV. If a different player works with the same login, the problem is the Smarters app on that device, not your subscription.

Common error messages and what they mean

“Invalid username or password” / “Authorisation failed”: a typo in the login, or an expired subscription. Re-enter the details and confirm your end date.

“Unable to connect” / “Server not found”: the server URL is wrong, or your network can’t reach it. Check the URL, then test on mobile data to rule out your home network.

Channels list loads but nothing plays: usually a connection or device problem. Restart the device and try Ethernet or 5GHz Wi-Fi. If one channel fails while others play, that individual feed may have moved — report the channel name to your provider.

Empty Movies or Series sections: the library can take a minute to load on large catalogues. Give it time, then refresh from the app settings if it stays empty.

Habits that prevent most problems

  • Restart your streaming device once a week, by unplugging it rather than using sleep mode.
  • Keep the app updated, but avoid unofficial “modded” versions — they break more often.
  • Keep a note of your server URL, username and password somewhere safe so you can re-enter them quickly.
  • Put your most-watched channels in Favourites so you aren’t scrolling through thousands each evening.
  • If you watch on several screens at once, make sure your plan covers that many simultaneous streams.

When the problem isn’t the app at all

If several fixes haven’t helped and the same issue appears in a different player, the cause is upstream: your internet connection or the service itself. Run a speed test on the device — around 10 Mbps per HD stream and 25 Mbps per 4K stream is a sensible minimum. If your speed is fine and the issue persists across apps and devices, contact your provider with the details.

Fixes for specific devices

Firestick: low storage is a frequent cause of freezing. Uninstall apps you no longer use and clear the Smarters cache. A Firestick on an extension lead behind the TV can also overheat — give it some air.

Samsung and LG Smart TVs: fully power the TV off at the wall for a minute rather than using the remote, which only puts it to sleep. Keep the TV’s system software updated in Settings.

Phones and tablets: check the app has permission to use mobile data, and that low-power or data-saver mode isn’t throttling streaming in the background.

Windows and Mac: a computer is the quickest place to test a login, because you can paste the details. If it works there but not on the TV, the problem is the TV device.

Still not working?

Send your provider a photo of the error on your screen, the device you’re using and the channel that fails. A good support team will tell you honestly whether it’s your setup or theirs. If you’re with us, message us on WhatsApp — and if you’re testing providers, take a free trial and run it at a busy hour to see how it holds up. Our setup guide and Firestick guide cover setup for every device.
