You installed Smart IPTV on your Samsung or LG TV, opened it, and all you see is a MAC address on an empty screen. Nothing is broken — the app is waiting for a playlist. Here’s what that means, how to fix it, and the easier option most people end up using.

And the two ways to get from that screen to actual channels.
Smart IPTV (often shown as SIPTV) is a player, not a TV service. It contains no channels at all. When you first open it, it shows your TV’s MAC address because it’s waiting for you to link a playlist to that address. Until you do, there’s nothing to play — which is why the screen is empty.
A MAC address is a unique identifier for your TV’s network connection, written as six pairs of characters such as 00:1A:2B:3C:4D:5E. Smart IPTV uses it to know which TV a playlist belongs to. It’s not a login or password, and on its own it doesn’t give anyone access to anything.
The most common misunderstanding is thinking the app is the service. It isn’t. You need a subscription from an IPTV provider, who gives you a playlist link (an M3U URL) or Xtream Codes login details. Smart IPTV then plays what that playlist contains.
Note that Smart IPTV charges a one-time activation fee per TV after its trial period ends — that’s separate from your channel subscription.
Most people find it simpler to skip the MAC-address step entirely. Players like IPTV Smarters Pro let you log in directly on the TV with three details — server URL, username and password — and the channels, guide and on-demand library load straight away. There’s no website to visit and no playlist to upload. Our Smart TV guide covers Samsung, LG and Android TV.
If Smart IPTV is the only player available on your TV, the playlist method above works fine — we supply an M3U link for exactly that. If your TV can run IPTV Smarters Pro or another Xtream player, it’s quicker to set up and easier to fix later. And if your TV is older and struggles with either, a Firestick is the cheapest way to get a smooth experience.
Both are media players and neither includes channels. The difference is how you connect a subscription:
Both work with our subscription — we just need to know which one you use.
Is it safe to share my TV’s MAC address? With your IPTV provider or a player’s official upload page, yes. It identifies the TV for the playlist; it isn’t a password.
Can I use the same subscription on my phone? Yes. Install IPTV Smarters Pro on your phone and log in with the Xtream details — the same subscription works on both.
My TV can’t run either app. What now? A Firestick or Android TV box plugs into the HDMI port and runs every major player, often more smoothly than older Smart TVs.
The MAC-address screen looks the same on every platform, but where to find the app differs. On Samsung it comes from Smart Hub, on LG from the LG Content Store, and on Android TV from Google Play — though availability changes by region and model, and the app has been removed from some stores in the past. If you can’t find it, that’s a sign to use an Xtream-compatible player instead. On Android TV in particular, IPTV Smarters Pro and TiviMate are both easier to set up and give you a full TV guide without visiting any website.
To get set up quickly, message your provider three things: your TV brand and approximate year, the app you plan to use, and — if it’s Smart IPTV — the MAC address from the screen. That lets them send the right format the first time, instead of a back-and-forth while you sit in front of a blank screen.
Whichever player you use, test the service on your own TV first. Ask us for a free trial — no card needed — and tell us which app you have, so we send the right format: an M3U link for Smart IPTV or Xtream details for Smarters. See the plans when you’re ready.
Free trial credentials on WhatsApp, no card. Tell us your TV and app, and we’ll send the right setup for it.
